NerdsToGo PittsburghPosition: MSP Systems Technician – Hybrid Remote & FieldPosition OverviewNerdsToGo Pittsburgh is seeking a highly capable MSP Systems Technician who can independently resolve client issues, support business environments, and assist with both remote and onsite IT work.This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving problems, working directly with business clients, and handling a wide range of technical challenges. The technician will support managed service clients, staff augmentation engagements, and project-based work such as network deployments, workstation rollouts, office setups, and infrastructure upgrades.This is a hybrid role involving remote helpdesk support, onsite client visits, and participation in infrastructure and migration projects. The technician must be comfortable operating independently, documenting work clearly, and communicating professionally with business clients.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and resolve IT support tickets for business clientsProvide remote technical support using professional RMM and helpdesk toolsTroubleshoot Windows and Mac endpoints, printers, and business applicationsAdminister Microsoft 365 environments including user management and permissionsAssist with onboarding and offboarding users and device deploymentsConfigure and troubleshoot VPN connections and remote access toolsDeploy and configure business workstations and network equipmentPerform onsite service visits for troubleshooting, deployments, and projectsAssist with office setups, office relocations, and office tear-downsConfigure firewalls, routers, and network infrastructureAssist with backup systems and disaster recovery solutionsSupport security tools including endpoint protection and monitoring platformsParticipate in system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvementsMaintain accurate documentation and ticket notesCommunicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal team membersTechnical Skills & QualificationsStrong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Mac environmentsExperience administering Microsoft 365 environmentsFamiliarity with Active Directory/Entra ID user managementNetworking fundamentals including switches, routers, firewalls, and VLANsExperience with VPN configuration and remote access toolsUnderstanding of endpoint security and backup solutionsExperience supporting business environments with multiple usersAbility to quickly research and resolve unfamiliar technical issuesStrong documentation and communication skillsPreferred Experience3–7 years of IT support experienceExperience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment strongly preferredExperience supporting small to mid-sized businessesFamiliarity with RMM tools and ticketing platformsExperience performing onsite technical support workPreferred CertificationsCompTIA A+CompTIA Network+CompTIA Security+Microsoft certifications or equivalent experienceKey Traits We ValueStrong problem-solving ability and technical curiosityAbility to work independently and take ownership of issuesProfessional communication with business clientsAdaptability in fast-moving environmentsWillingness to handle both remote and onsite technical workStrong documentation and organizational habitsRole ExpectationsTechnicians in this role are expected to resolve most technical issues independently and take ownership of problems from start to finish.
