About the Position

Job Title: RN - PACU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Description: This position is for a travel RN in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit consists of 30 beds and has a variety of staff. Typical staffing includes 1 CNC/charge nurse for the day shift and 12 nurses. Night shift may require 2 RNs and potentially be on-call. Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients, or 1 RN to 1 patient, depending on circumstances. The unit primarily uses Meditech as the electronic medical record system. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital PACU RN experience. Candidates should have a great attitude and the ability to handle stress. Patient experience is a top priority for the unit. On-call duties are required with a 30-minute response time. Preferred candidates are flexible with hours and have prior experience with Meditech. Typical procedures performed in the unit include craniotomies and orthopedic surgeries. The unit seeks individuals who prioritize patient experience and can adapt to its dynamic environment.
