As our Department Office & Programs Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our main office, planning department events, and overseeing our undergraduate and graduate academic programs. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with students, faculty, and staff as well as foster connections across campus. Apply today so we can talk about how this position fits with your own career goals!What you’ll do in this position:Manage the department office, including scheduling, inventory, keys/access, space, equipment, and other needs as identified by department leadershipMentor a small team of student office staff to maintain the office and provide administrative support to department faculty and staffServe as communication hub for both internal and external department communicationsManage three part-time staff that coordinate our three student academic programs (Undergraduate, Psychology PhD, and Clinical Psychology PhD)Liaise with and serve as main point of contact for BYU Graduate StudiesWork closely with the faculty Directors of Clinical Training and Psychology Training to update curriculum and graduate catalogues and ensure compliance BYU Graduate Studies requirementsCoordinate with graduate students for teaching assignments, faculty teaching mentors, and thesis & dissertation requirements and timelinesWork with staff, student organizations, and department committees to conceptualize, plan, and execute all department eventsFacilitate scheduling logistics for visiting scholars and faculty applicantsWhat qualifies you for this role:RequiredA firm commitment to the mission of BYUBachelor’s degree and 2 years office experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceProfessionalism in appearance, performance, and languageStrong organizational skills, communication, and computer skillsReliable and able to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and handle difficult situations with sensitivity and fairnessExcellent attention to detail, with proven ability to work independently and make decisions in a changing environmentPreferredBachelor’s Degree and 4 years of office experienceExperience as a supervisor or leading a teamFamiliarity with higher educationWhat we offer in return:In addition to our competitive pay structure, this position comes with fantastic benefits, including:401k.
