Materials Engineer

Seeking a detail-oriented Remote Materials Engineer for a contract position to support a critical materials data management initiative by populating databases, consolidating material information, and reviewing technical documentation. Key responsibilities: Populate a centralized materials database with SDS information, chemical names, CAS numbers, and supplier data Consolidate part-level material information into a searchable device-level database Engage suppliers to obtain missing material information and support engineering and regulatory activities Required qualifications: Degree or background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field Approximately 3-5 years of relevant industry experience Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and understand chemical names and CAS numbers Strong Excel and data management skills Experience with polymers/plastics and in regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals is preferred
