Assistant Principal of Registration

Assistant Principal – Registration and Records This position administers school and district policies and regulations, supervises certificated and classified employees, manages student discipline and attendance monitoring, oversees specific school programs, and evaluates teaching performance within assigned curriculum areas. It also maintains academic records, fosters communication with parents and students, and ensures effective grade verification and posting. Qualifications Valid Arizona teaching and principal certificates. Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field. Minimum five years teaching or counseling experience at the secondary level. Minimum three years of leadership experience. Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card. Expertise in curriculum development, student assessment, and instructional technology. Demonstrated background in instructional leadership and collaborative work. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of district policies and procedures (preferred). Knowledge of dropout intervention practices that connect students to the community (preferred). Ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Essential Functions Report directly to the campus principal. Assist the principal with overall school administration. Serve as acting principal in the principal’s absence. Maintain discipline across the student body. Support the district‑approved instructional program and guidance services. Assist with personnel management, including hiring, interviewing, and evaluating teachers. Coordinate summer school, textbook selection, and budget preparation for assigned areas. Participate in student study teams, 504 planning, and IEP processes. Recommend academic interventions and alternative placements. Manage accurate record‑keeping and report preparation. Oversee attendance, data management, scheduling, and grading systems. Help develop policies and interpret district programs for staff and students. Assist with safety inspections, drills, and community relations. Lead change and revitalization projects and pursue professional growth for staff. Supervise campus athletic events and coordinate site testing. Assist with graduation ceremonies, department meetings, and college visitation activities. Oversee guidance, registrar, and records clerk duties, including special program support. Manage credit retrieval and organize open house and scholarship events. Support technology infrastructure for student information systems and portals. Collaborate with teachers and counselors to monitor at‑risk students. Maintain the student procedures handbook and early intervention programs. Perform any related duties required for efficient operation of the unit. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Skills include operating standard office equipment, planning and managing projects, maintaining confidential records, communicating across diverse backgrounds, and using educational software. Knowledge required covers classroom management, curriculum development, federal and state regulations, and instructional practices. Abilities involve scheduling, data management, problem solving, and leadership that promotes integrity, teamwork, and effective job performance.
