Certified Outpatient Coder

To support healthcare operations, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder will accurately abstract and code data into electronic medical record systems, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote environment. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various outpatient accounts according to established workflows Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements Communicate with physicians and Clinical Documentation staff to clarify clinical information and resolve coding issues Required qualifications Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential Minimum of 3 years of coding experience; experience in Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facilities preferred
