Physician Assistant - Surgical Subspecialties, Nights

This role offers extensive hands-on surgical experience as a first assist in the OR , along with responsibility for ED and inpatient consults, admissions, rounding, discharges, and invasive bedside procedures . You'll gain exposure to a diverse case mix spanning general surgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, colorectal surgery, and plastic surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures, vascular interventions, breast reconstruction, thoracic surgery, and more. Physician assistant role scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), advanced practitioners perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, advanced practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.Advanced practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols, identify problems outside of their scope of practice, and refer appropriately to a physician. Requirements:

• Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)

• Training: Certified or board-eligible physician assistant

• Experience: 1+ years' experience as a physician assistant in surgery or related setting
