Quality Inspector - Rail & Transit

Quality Inspector

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Quality Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to work on the premier infrastructure project in the Country! The Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Conduct daily inspections of construction activities, including excavation, concrete work, tunnel lining, utilities, and other structural elements
2. Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet project specifications and approved submittals.
3. Prepare quality inspection reports
4. Collaborate with safety teams to ensure that inspections align with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Coordinate independent testing.
6. Coordinate contractor, subs and stakeholder field operations.
7. Enforce safety standards on-site, including adherence to OSHA and other regulatory safety protocols.
8. Identify potential safety hazards, report violations, and ensure contractors follow site-specific safety plans, especially around large shafts and excavation zones.
9. Inspect materials and equipment used for excavation and tunneling, checking for compliance with quality standards.
10. Document and report any deviations or deficiencies, working closely with contractors to address issues promptly to ensure quality throughout the project.
11. Maintain detailed records of daily work activities, site conditions, and inspection results.
12. Provide regular reports on progress, any issues encountered, and corrective actions taken, ensuring documentation aligns with project requirements.
13. Work closely with construction supervisors and engineers to address any concerns that arise during inspection.
14. Communicate inspection findings and collaborate on solutions to on-site issues, such as unexpected ground conditions or equipment adjustments.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Math, Quality or related field and 6+ years related construction experience or a High School/Trade School diploma and equivalent work experience (10+ years) is required
• This role demands a solid background in heavy civil construction with a focus on large shafts, tunnel lining, utilities, and excavation
• Requires being on-site for the majority of the time to provide continuous oversight

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• Experience with Mega Projects in the Rail and Transit industry
• Experience working with multiple partners and clients
• Tunneling experience a plus
