Director of Transportation (PE)

Civil Engineering Director (PE), Transportation, Houston, TX Halff is seeking a Director of Transportation, with a Texas Professional Engineer License, to support and provide leadership in the Houston, Texas transportation market. The selected individual will be responsible for the growth and success of transportation planning, design, and related services within the Greater‑Houston region, including business development, client relationships and project delivery. What you will do: Providing strong leadership and guidance in areas of technical expertise and overseeing the transportation practice in the region. Researching markets, developing and maintaining client relationships, and identifying business opportunities. Creating and executing strategic plans and guiding practice growth. Leading successful strategic pursuits and capture planning for specific opportunities. Working closely with operations staff in the region to identify, hire, develop and grow key staff and resources, and ensuring successful project delivery. Collaborating with Halff's national Transportation Practice to implement best practices and leverage firm‑wide resources. What you will need: Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or an ABET‑accredited equivalent engineering degree. A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the Transportation Engineering industry. Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Texas. Established leadership and expertise in the industry. Strong client connections, particularly TxDOT relationships at senior levels.
