Academic Advisor - College of Business Advising Location: Clemson, SC Job Summary Plans, implements, and evaluates activities related to academic advising and mentoring College of Business students. Coordinates special events, programs, and activities related to advising, orientation, recruiting, and retention. Provides leadership in special programs assigned to the advising position and performs other duties as assigned. Job Duties 50% - Essential – ACADEMIC ADVISING: Advisor and mentor for undergraduate students in or looking to come into pre‑business. Provides support to students seeking additional academic information, college engagement opportunities, various university support services, and success strategies. Supports departmental faculty academic advisors and maintains appropriate background information/files. 30% - Essential – SPECIAL PROGRAMS: Serves as lead coordinator for a program essential to the operation of the COB Academic Advising Center such as Freshman Orientation, Transfer Orientation, Bridge Program, or Retention Programs. Develops and maintains a continuity book for this program, updates annually, and participates in workshops and university meetings. 10% - Essential – STUDENT SERVICES: Participates in Freshman and Transfer Orientation programs and in the CUBS Living and Learning Community program as needed. Attends recruitment or admission events for the College. 10% - Essential – OTHER DUTIES: Participates in workshops, university meetings, and other requirements as assigned. Minimum Requirements Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree – Experience in student services programs. Preferred Requirements Education - 1st Master's Degree – Higher Education or related field. Work Experience – 3+ years in student services with experience in academic advising. Responsibilities Job Knowledge – Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to academic advising. Supervisory Responsibilities – No supervisory duties. Budgetary Responsibilities – No budget responsibilities. Physical Requirements Stand for prolonged periods; Sit for prolonged periods; Communicate and express oneself effectively. Working Conditions Occasional overnight travel for conferences or events and occasional work after regular hours for special activities and events. Work Schedule Standard hours: 37.5 per week. Compensation Information Expected salary range: $39,300 - $47,000. Salary is dependent upon experience, knowledge, skills, and performance. Application Deadline May 25, 2026 at 11:59pm EST.
