Job Details Job Location: GRAND PRAIRIE, TX 75050 Position Type: Seasonal Education Level: 2 Year Degree Travel Percentage: None Job Category: Other General Definition Determine order of finish for all horses in each race. Shall keep file of order of finish for each race card for the Racing Secretary and Racing Commission. Essential Job Functions Answers phones Takes entries in booth Registers foal papers & silks Inputs foal papers & silks in computer Put running numbers on the tote board each race Record complete order of finish after each race Notify stewards of placings Notify mutuels of placings Operate tote board Operate photo finish system when necessary Stop betting when horses break from gate Report order to Equibase chart caller Fill out and turn in placing slips to appropriate parties Call final order around to appropriate parties All other duties as assigned by management Qualifications (Education) High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 years related experience and/or training; or combination. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be knowledgeable of the Rules of Racing. Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Responsible for being gracious to all guests and co-workers. Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards. Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment Excellent customer service/communication skills Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Training 3 year work related experience and/or training; or combination.
