Job Summary:

The Certified Respiratory Therapist administers specialized respiratory care in various clinical settings, focusing on patient assessment, mechanical ventilation management, and medication delivery. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and professional collaboration to support patient recovery and wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Execute all respiratory care procedures in accordance with departmental policies and standards.
  
  
• 
  Verify and implement physician orders, ensuring accurate documentation of services provided.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and maintain ventilator and airway management, including intubation support and suctioning techniques.
  
  
• 
  Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results to guide therapeutic interventions.
  
  
• 
  Educate and train patients, new staff, and students on respiratory procedures and equipment.
  
  
• 
  Participate in ongoing education, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Graduate of a COARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program with NBRC CRT credential.
  
  
• 
  Valid BLS certification; NRP certification required within 6 months of hire.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of one year hospital-based respiratory therapy experience.
  
  
• 
  Ability to assess complex patient respiratory conditions and recommend appropriate therapies.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated proficiency in cardiopulmonary equipment and emergency airway management.
  
  
• 
  Knowledge of pediatric, neonatal, and geriatric patient care requirements.
