Job Description Summary:

\ N This position will work directly with Women's Health Leadership team to provide designated clinical unit(s) with educational support, including needs assessments, execute on project work within the care site in the areas of process improvement, quality improvement, evidence-based practice and communication.\ N
\n
\nThe NPD practitioner demonstrates expertise in the identified roles: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions. Responsibilities include onboarding/orientation, competency management, education, professional role development, collaborative partnerships, research, evidenced based practice, and quality improvement. Assists in the design of education based on educational standards, evidenced based practice and OhioHealth policy.\ N

\nThis role is 24 hours in Clinical Education and is meant to be paired with a 12-hour Staff RN role in the new Women's Health Pavilion Medical Surgical Unit, SSU, specialty post-partum population.\ N

\nAn ideal candidate for this role has ICU or intermediate experience\ N

Responsibilities And Duties:

\nCollaborates with education, unit and campus leadership to identify educational opportunities related to regulatory the requirements Collaborates with unit, campus and system committees within the service line to individualize staff education needs resulting from: new equipment, processes, policies, procedures,\ N
\nUses Evidenced Based Assessment techniques or instruments to define potential opportunities (formal needs assessment, ADDIE).\ N
\nCoordinates implementation of an educational plan, including activities and resources necessary to achieve desired outcomes\ N
\nCreates and implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings\ N
\nInteracts with new hire, preceptor and unit leadership team to enhance personal practice and enculturation to the organization\ N

\nAssess knowledge through methods and models of adult learning theory in coordination with Association of Nurse Professional Development and OhioHealth learner reference tools.\ N

• Clinical certification that correlates with unit specialty population, ie. RNC-OB;
  RNC-MNN;
  RN-BC, MEDSURG-BC
\ N
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program instructor.
\ N
• 3-5 years' experience in designated clinical area;

• Familiar with High Reliability Organization standards
\ N
• Current member of Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
\ N
• Experience as a preceptor, clinical instructor or clinical leader
\ N
