What you will be doing: Our nationwide team of sales representatives work closely with architectural professionals advising on the design and specification of door openings. We accomplish this through Openings Studio, our award-winning BIM software used to specify 3D doors, hardware, and access control. In this role, you can picture yourself as a vital team member to the architect and design team. You will be given the freedom to navigate your path to achieve success in the market. Your goal will be to drive positive, sustaining relationships with key influencers and to create brand demand through educating, facilitating, and promoting ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions. You can expect to be part of a diverse and talented sales team with colleagues dedicated to mutual support and success. Key areas you will contribute to in this role include:
- Identify key architectural, design, and engineering firms that work on institutional project types tied to our core vertical markets including Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 Education, and Government markets.
- Cultivate consulting relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
- Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
- Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications.
- Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
- Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process.
- Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool.
What we are looking for: You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions. You are detail-oriented, organized, and known for follow-up habits. You are a self-motivated, organized individual who takes pride in attention to details and accuracy in their work. You're a multi-tasker who can manage time and projects proficiently. You're a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator. You can work independently but believe in teamwork. You have the ability to read, understand specifications/facility standards, and have industry-related technical and sales aptitude. Ability to travel within an assigned territory and meet the requirements of customers. Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling. You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations. Ability to visit, on occasion, factory assembly floors as part of customer experiences. Ability to attend and participate in all-day, internal, collaborative sales meetings in a dynamic, open workspace. Education and/or experience: Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: architectural, design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma. At least 2-3 years' industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management, will be considered in lieu of degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting. Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.
