Special Education Paraprofessional

Schedule: August 31, 2026 - June 11, 2027

Mon-Fri 7:30 am- 4:00 pm EST

Summary Of Position:

The Spec Ed paraprofessional is responsible for providing one-to-one services for Special Education Learner, including engaging with families, administering the required state tests and facilitating learning so that students can engage in Tier I instruction regularly, with the right levels of support that are specific to their learning needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Punctual, responsible and regular in attendance.
2. Works well in a team situation.
3. Assist the professional staff with improving the students' academic skills.
4. Assist the professional staff with student behavior.
5. Communicate with professional staff on student progress, concerns, and behavior.
6. Respect confidentiality of school personnel and students and understand FERPA.
7. Participates in district provided professional development as required.
8. Implement district approved curriculum & interventions.
9. Follow district, state and federal regulations / guidelines.
10. Administer state and district assessments
11. Promote positive attitude among students, parents and co-workers.
12. Follow instructions.
13. Assist with developing instructional materials.
14. Assist in the daily planning of activities for student.
15. Be an active participant in classroom.
16. Professionally dressed.
17. Sit, stand, and walk daily; work on the floor.
18. Responsible for the safety of student.
19. Perform other tasks as assigned by the professional staff and principal.
