JOB SUMMARY

The AV Technician III / Senior is a highly experienced professional responsible for leading complex audiovisual operations, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting the overall performance and development of the AV function. This role serves as a subject matter expert and technical leader, overseeing high-profile events and managing advanced AV systems with precision and confidence.

The AV Technician is responsible for handling the most complex technical requirements, proactively identifying risks, and implementing solutions that ensure seamless execution. This role also supports operational strategy by contributing to process improvements, equipment planning, and best practices.

In addition to technical leadership, the AV Technician III plays a key role in mentoring and developing team members, reinforcing standards, and promoting consistency across operations. This position requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, high-visibility environments.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS & ABILITIES

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (preferred)
• Advanced certifications in AV technology (preferred)

EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of progressive AV experience
• Demonstrated experience handling complex, high-level events
• Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians
• Experience working with both Microsoft and Apple products and other related AV software

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Advanced Technical Leadership

• Lead execution of complex and high-profile AV events
• Serve as the escalation point for advanced technical issues
• Design and implement AV solutions for unique or non-standard event needs
• Ensure consistency and quality across all AV operations

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with high-level clients
• Provide expert consultation and recommendations for AV solutions
• Ensure exceptional service delivery for high-visibility events

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Train, mentor, and support development of AV Technician I and II team members
• Provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge-sharing
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and high-performance standards

Operational Excellence & Strategy

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Support equipment planning, upgrades, and standardization
• Collaborate with leadership on long-term AV operational needs

Problem Solving & Decision Making

• Resolve complex technical challenges under pressure
• Demonstrate sound judgment and decisive action in critical situations
• Anticipate risks and proactively implement solutions

Professionalism & Leadership Presence

• Exhibit strong leadership presence and professionalism
• Serve as a role model for performance, conduct, and accountability

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES

Technical Leadership & Oversight:

• Lead complex, multi-room, or high-profile event production
• Oversee technical execution and ensure quality control standards
• Serve as escalation point for critical technical challenges

Team Development & Support:

• Train and mentor AV team members
• Provide coaching and feedback to improve performance
• Assist in onboarding and skill development

Advanced Operations & Strategy:

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment upgrades
• Develop and standardize best practices for AV operations
• Support long-term planning for AV capabilities and growth

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Partner with high-level clients and stakeholders on AV solutions
• Provide expert recommendations and technical guidance
• Ensure exceptional delivery for high-visibility events

Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all operations meet safety and compliance standards
• Promote a culture of accountability and operational excellence
• Demonstrate consistent reliability, punctuality, and attendance to ensure proper event coverage and operational efficiency.
