POSITION OVERVIEW: The Screw Machine Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of six spindle screw machines, including Acme Gridley and Greenlee models. The role involves setting up machines, monitoring operations, adjusting as necessary for quality and efficiency, and ensuring production meets specified tolerances and deadlines.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate screw machines to produce precision-machined parts.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced according to specifications.
• Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Make adjustments to machine settings to maintain product quality and optimize production efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate effectively.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating Acme Gridley and/or Greenlee screw machines preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of machining processes and materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Screw machine operator
• Basic machine troubleshooting.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
