Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a CV Surgery ICU Float Pool position in Rochester, MN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care ICU experience and at least 1 year of travel nursing experience.

Details

• CV Surgery ICU unit within a large hospital setting in Rochester, MN
• Day/Night rotation shifts (0700–1930 and 1900–0730) as well as straight nights (1900–0730)
• 36 hours per week, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR (experience required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required; must not expire within 3 months of start date
• Current ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required
• CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required
• CVS ICU experience preferred
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required, or a minimum of 3 completed travel assignments
• Graduated from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program (or equivalent RN experience as outlined by education requirements)
• Experience with VADs, Impella, ECMO, and/or balloon pumps preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required for eligibility
• Date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Accountable for coordination of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
• Functions within a professional nursing practice model with responsibility for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of care for assigned patients
• Provides leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts
• Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
• ECG exam required during orientation — must pass to continue the assignment
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before starting a new assignment
• On-site work only — no remote or telework options
