Senior Environmental Site Investigation & Remediation Engineer

Job Overview We are looking for a Senior Environmental Site Investigation/Remediation (SI/REM) Professional to join our Desert Southwest Region in Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas. The candidate will lead the growth of our regional site investigation and remediation team, working with a diverse public and private sector client base. Managerial Responsibilities Collaborate with Operational Managers across the region to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations. Prepare and present winning proposals for site investigation and remediation projects. Coach and mentor SI/REM staff on data quality and reporting, driving consistent excellence. Partner with regional leadership to develop an operations plan and business development strategy for the practice. Technical Responsibilities Lead multi‑disciplined teams in designing and implementing site characterization and remediation approaches. Manage projects involving soil removal, remedial injections, vapor intrusion mitigation, and groundwater remediation systems. Review advanced characterization data, support remedial investigations and feasibility studies, and prepare engineering evaluations and cost analyses under CERCLA and RCRA. Participate in scoping and preparation of Site Characterization Reports, Corrective Action Plans, Remedial Action Plans, Voluntary Cleanup Program applications, and monitoring reports. General Responsibilities Prepare expenditure forecasts and manage scope, schedule, and budget for complex projects. Secure specialized resources and conduct project meetings with comprehensive progress reports. Coordinate financial management, invoicing, and collections with accounting. Identify and mitigate project‑related risks in accordance with company policies. Plan, design, schedule, and manage technical scopes using advanced methods (UVOST, LIF, MMP). Lead proposal development for complex investigations and oversee remediation system design, installation, and operation. Apply best practices, adjust data analyses, resolve discrepancies, and ensure detailed procedural compliance. Implement continuous quality monitoring and improvement for projects and company policies. Demonstrate proficiency in client management, client development, and environmental sector growth. Enforce safety rules and standards during all projects and participate in pre‑task planning. Develop marketing strategies and present qualifications to clients. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, geology, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 11 years of experience in environmental field investigations, remedial design, and implementation. Professional Engineer registration (or ability to obtain registration within six months). Working knowledge of state regulations in New Mexico, Arizona, and/or Nevada. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong technical writing ability, with authored documents available upon request. Strong organizational skills. Completed OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training. EEO Statement Terracon is an EEO employer.
