And our success allows HermanMiller to support causes that align with our values, so we can build a more sustainable, equitable, and beautiful future for everyone.**GENERAL PURPOSE*** Develops, constructs and alters a wide variety of fixtures, gauges and automated machines.* Performs Tool Room operations involving extremely close tolerances.* Plans construction procedures and methods to complete assignments as well as selecting proper materials. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*** Computes dimensions, determines machining methods and material or parts required.* Continuously improve skill set.* Demonstrated use of good judgement, balancing cost, quality and timing.* Effectively uses design tools, E-drawings/Solidworks to complete machining and build tasks.* Fabricates components and assembles tools, machines and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches and models.* Operates and programs CNC equipment.* Performs precision work to exacting tolerance and dimensions, using a variety of hand and precision tools.* Provide guidance and instruction to help develop team members in specific areas of expertise.* Reviews designs, uses substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems.* Solves problems related to unusual materials, work holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods or production process.* Supports break downs, drop in jobs, and installations.* Works effectively under extremely tight deadlines.* Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.* Additional Essential Functions **QUALIFICATIONS*** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.* The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. *Education/Experience** Education/Experience - Not Parsed* Other High school diploma or equivalent education required. *Licenses and Certifications** Must have a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman's card and complete an apprenticeship program. *Skills and Abilities** Demonstrated technical aptitude is required for this position.* Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing for any special equipment required for the position to include hilo/ personal cart.* Ability to work in a team environment.* Must have the flexibility to change work schedule to support break downs, drop-in jobs, and installations.* Understanding of continuous improvement lean processes in preferred.* Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools used in the HMI operations environment.* Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.* Additional Skills and Abilities **PHYSICAL DEMANDS*** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions* Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.**Who We Hire?** Simply put, we hire qualified applicants representing a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
