About the Opportunity

MedStaff Group is recruiting on behalf of a well-established multi-specialty practice in Riverhead, NY seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join its Endocrinology department on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a provider with endocrinology or strong internal medicine/primary care experience who is comfortable managing patients independently while working collaboratively with an experienced endocrinologist. The ideal candidate is fluent in Spanish and passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered endocrine care.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of endocrine disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, obesity, and other endocrine diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and adjust medications based on laboratory results and patient progress.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Provide diabetes management, including insulin adjustments, CGM interpretation, and patient education.
• Counsel patients on nutrition, weight management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Physician Assistant license.
• NCCPA certification.
• Experience in endocrinology preferred; candidates with strong primary care or internal medicine experience managing endocrine conditions are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to practice independently with excellent clinical judgment.
• Experience managing diabetic patients and other chronic endocrine conditions.
• Fluency in Spanish is required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient education skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records (ECW experience is a plus).
