Calibration Technician

Amentum is seeking an experienced Electronics / Calibration Technician IV to work 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm) in Mossville, IL. The technician will provide advanced expertise in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of industrial‑grade electrical and electronic equipment used in life‑safety, fire‑suppression, gas‑monitoring, emergency lighting, and ventilation systems. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical/electronic equipment; ensure compliance with NEC guidelines. Use the building automation system and CMMS to track equipment conditions and maintenance schedules. Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems per scheduled CMMS tasks. Calibrate gas, ozone, CO, CO₂ sensors and related instrumentation. Operate measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to support energy‑efficiency solutions. Communicate with customers on work orders, ensuring adherence to codes, regulations and industry standards. Identify and document cost‑saving opportunities and recommend performance improvements. Maintain safe work practices by following lockout/tagout, job‑hazard‑analysis and PPE protocols. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least five years of experience in electronic systems maintenance and calibration in an industrial environment. Experience with circuit‑board control and repairs, low‑voltage (0‑10V, 4‑20mA) systems, and OSHA‑related calibrations. Ability to work at heights up to 30ft using aerial or scissor lifts. Valid driver’s license (may be required). Ability to obtain a security access badge and comply with pre‑employment substance‑abuse testing. Physical Requirements Regularly lift up to 50lbs. Climb ladders, roof ladder, stepladder and stairs at least 10 times per shift. Perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, stretching and reaching during shift. Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift. Use utility knife and color‑coded wire identification. Perform repetitive wrist movements, operate hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware. Interact professionally with clients amid periods of stress. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Industrial Electrical or related skilled trade. Experience calibrating gas, ozone, CO, CO₂ sensors. Experience troubleshooting low‑voltage controls and 4‑20mA circuits. Proficiency with electronic test equipment (DVM, amp probe, oscilloscope, signal generator). Experience running conduit. Knowledge of NFPA 70E, ability to read and interpret data from meters, gauges, panels, console, etc. Ability to read and record data from electrical and instrumentation consoles.
