Two full-time positions are open for the 2026–2027 school year at the middle-school level—one specializing in academic subjects and the other focusing on academic assistance and executive function.

Qualifications & Experience

• Special education certification or eligibility for Connecticut certification required.
• Experience or strong knowledge of reading interventions like SPIRE, WILSON, Orton-Gillingham (OG) preferred (for ELA/Math role).
• Passion for supporting students with varied needs grades 6–8.
• Prior middle school experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• For the subject-focused role: Teach 6th-grade ELA, specialized reading, 6th-grade math, and specialized math, implementing targeted interventions.
• For the academic assistance role: Guide students in executive functioning, support core academic work, and collaborate in a resource-like setting.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Partner with general education staff and families for student success.
• Monitor progress and document achievements.
