About the Role:

A leading defense and aerospace technology organization is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems for advanced antenna products. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to manage complex projects, develop innovative engineering solutions, and contribute throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will oversee mechanical design, analysis, testing, qualification, and production support while collaborating with engineers, designers, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, from individual components to full system integration.
• Manage product lifecycle activities, including concept development, detailed design, qualification, and production support.
• Develop and review CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using PTC Creo.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 standards.
• Perform and oversee engineering analyses, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and hand calculations using tools such as ANSYS.
• Plan and oversee testing activities, including test plans, procedures, and data analysis.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical problems through analytical and innovative engineering solutions.
• Improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead and present at internal and external design reviews.
• Contribute to departmental planning, engineering goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, configuration management, and product development processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, or 4+ years with a graduate degree.
• Strong proficiency in CAD design and engineering documentation, preferably using PTC Creo.
• Solid understanding of GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5.
• Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design projects or engineering initiatives.
• Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience with FEA, preferably ANSYS.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing, machining, fabrication, and composite materials.
• Experience in aerospace or defense engineering is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Windchill PDM, RF systems, antenna technology, or radome design is an advantage.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, subject to applicable contract requirements. Certain citizenship restrictions may apply.
