Medstar Radiology Network is currently seeking an experienced CT Technologist for a Full-time Flex position at our outpatient imaging center located in Bel Air. M-F 8a-430p/ph3Job Summary/h3pUnder the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the CT technologist:/pulliPerforms computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional 3-dimensional images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner./liliEnsures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements./liliServes as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice./li/ulh3Essential Job Functions/h3ulliReceives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patients medical record./liliCorroborates patients clinical history with physicians order and procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. May also verify informed consent, if applicable./liliAssumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures./liliIdentifies, prepares, positions patient, and competently performs procedure by using established CT protocols or as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation or intervention, to achieve the highest quality image./liliApplies principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others./liliPerforms venipuncture and maintains intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner./liliIdentifies, prepares, and/or administers medications as prescribed by and under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner in accordance with state and federal regulations./liliEvaluates images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded./liliProvides education to patients, as well as students and other health care providers./liliPerforms ongoing quality assurance activities./liliConducts POC Creatinine clearance testing in accordance with established CT protocols or as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation./liliFollowing the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, assists with interventional computed tomography procedures and applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed./liliSelects appropriate CT technical exam factors with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters./liliAs required, instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties as necessary./liliEstablishes ownership of clinical area by taking pride in appearance and readiness of exam rooms, equipment, and supplies./liliParticipates in performance improvement activities./liliManipulates and reconstructs digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring proper identification is evident./liliMaintains archival storage of digital data as appropriate./liliAssists in maintaining supply inventory./liliTakes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when work load/area allows./liliDemonstrates consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge patient, Introduce yourself, provide Duration/timeline for test, Explain the test Thank them for choosing the center) and HEAL (Hear them out, Empathize, Apologize, Leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers./liliAttends/participates in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled./liliPerforms all other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Requirements/h3pstrongExperience:/strong Up to 5 years experience as a CT Technologist/ppstrongEducation:/strong Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program./ppstrongLicense/Certification Requirements:/strong Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. CT advanced registration through ARRT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require CT advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice./ppstrongSkills/Abilities:/strong/pulliSkill in operation of CT equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment./liliAbility to work independently and multitask./liliAbility to provide documentation accurately and concisely./liliDemonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology./liliKnowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data./li/ul/div
