Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant - VRCC - Internal Medicine PetVet Care Centers' VRCC Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital - Internal Medicine is currently seeking a Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join their team. Position Overview Supports veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks including equipment maintenance, patient feeding, grooming, prep and sanitization of surgical suites, patient restraint, clerical and administrative duties, and quality care delivery. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate care to all patients Greet patients and owners; perform weight and vital signs check Assist in triage, physical exams, treatments, and medication administration under the guidance of licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs) Calm and soothe anxious patients Assist with medication administration and patient restraint Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs Operate and maintain hospital equipment (EKG, fluid pump, syringe pump, scales, anesthetic monitors, etc.) Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, maintain controlled drug documentation Feed patients per prescription; record appetites and report abnormalities Communicate positively with clients; ensure client comfort Educate clients about insurance, wellness, and medication plans Maintain cleaning of hospital, equipment, kennels, facilities; handle chemicals safely; complete laundry Provide bathing and grooming for overnight patients Adhere to hospital safety and wellness regulations Follow oral and written directions Maintain accurate medical records Attend full-time shifts Promote hospital products and services supporting the organization Respond with urgency to directions from DVM or LVT Perform duties assigned by Manager; cover specialty areas (dental, surgery, emergency, radiology, cardiology, neurology, internal medicine) Qualifications Veterinary Assistant experience required Experience in Internal Medicine or specialty preferred Schedule Full Time, Day Shift What We Offer Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support - Calm app access and 24/7 EAP CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle - relief fund for personal hardship Local hospital culture backed by national resources Pay Range
