Job Summary

The BSA Analyst supports the administration and execution of the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance programs. This position plays a critical role in identifying, investigating, and escalating unusual or suspicious activity in a timely manner to help safeguard the Bank against money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial crimes.

The BSA Analyst is responsible for conducting BSA/AML monitoring and review activities, supporting regulatory reporting requirements, and assisting with investigations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The position collaborates with other BSA units and business departments, participates in compliance-related projects and initiatives, and contributes to the continuous improvement of the Bank's financial crimes compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform customer and transaction research, including negative news searches, utilizing Bank systems, public records, internet resources, and subscription-based databases.
• Utilize BSA/AML monitoring systems to identify, investigate, document, and escalate unusual or suspicious activity in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze transactional activity, customer information, and account relationships to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions, or other financial crime risks.
• Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for high-risk customers, entities, and beneficial owners, documenting risk ratings and investigative findings.
• Investigate alerts generated by BSA/AML monitoring systems and prepare comprehensive recommendations regarding potentially suspicious or high-risk activity.
• Review and respond to information-sharing requests under Section 314(b) of the USA PATRIOT Act, as applicable.
• Perform OFAC-related reviews and research to identify potential sanctions concerns and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Monitor regulatory developments, including guidance issued by FinCEN, OFAC, and other regulatory agencies, and maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with frontline staff and business units to obtain information necessary to complete investigations, customer due diligence reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Serve as a resource to Bank personnel by responding to BSA/AML-related questions and providing guidance on compliance matters.
• Resolve complex issues requiring interpretation and application of policies, regulations, procedures, and regulatory guidance.
• Assist with the preparation of regulatory filings, investigations, and supporting documentation as required.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to share knowledge, provide training, and support departmental objectives.
• Assist other functional areas within the BSA Department, including OFAC, Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and other compliance functions as needed.
• Participate in department initiatives, system enhancements, audits, examinations, projects, and other assignments as directed.
• Maintain accurate records and case documentation in accordance with Bank policy, regulatory requirements, and departmental procedures.
• Perform all duties in compliance with the Bank's BSA/AML Compliance Program, OFAC requirements, internal policies, and the FFIEC BSA/AML Examination Manual.

Compliance Responsibilities

Complies with all applicable state and federal banking laws, regulations, and internal policies related but not limited to lending, operations, and deposit requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements, Financial Elder Abuse reporting laws, Sexual Harassment prevention policies, information security and privacy requirements.

Equipment Operated

• Operates standard electronic computers and customary office equipment required to perform essential job functions.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of banking experience, with an emphasis on customer service and customer relationship management.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance functions.
• Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification preferred but not required.

Minimum Absence Requirement

Some positions within the Bank have been designated as sensitive positions due to access to critical systems, records, or processes. In accordance with Bank policy and sound internal‑control practices, employees in sensitive positions are required to complete a mandatory consecutive absence from essential duties each calendar year to support segregation of duties and independent review.

The required absence will be scheduled in coordination with management to ensure continuity of operations. Administration of absence, including paid or unpaid status, will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour and leave laws, including California requirements.

Required Minimum Absence for This Position: Two (2) Consecutive Weeks

Officer Title Eligibility

For qualified positions, the Bank may designate an Officer Title based on the role’s job level, scope of responsibility, and alignment with established competency frameworks. Eligibility for an Officer Title designation is contingent upon the employee meeting defined competency, performance, and experience requirements and is governed by applicable Bank policies, governance standards, and required approval processes.

• This position is not eligible for an Officer Title.

Compensation

The listed range represents the full compensation range for this position. Placement within the range will be determined based on factors including skills, relevant experience, job‑related qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, in accordance with Bank compensation policies.

• Non‑Exempt Hourly Rate: $34.50 – $55.50 per hour
