Quick Facts: Location: Portsmouth, VA Start Date: 10/05/2026 End Date/Duration: 09/30/2030 Shift: Varies (Mon-Sun, 0700 - 1900, 0700 - 1600, 0700 - 1530 as per site) Hours/Week: Flexible based on clinic schedule Employment Type: Contract/Full-Time License/Certs: MD or DO, active unrestricted license, DEA, BLS, Board Certified in Family Practice Experience: Minimum 1 year recent family medicine Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $135.00 (paid weekly via direct deposit) Benefits include: Competitive pay packages, weekly pay, referral bonus program, licensure, certification, travel reimbursements when applicable, and more. What You’ll Do: Provide comprehensive primary care services including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care Document medical records accurately and efficiently Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives Support military and veteran patient populations in affiliated clinics What You Need: MD or DO from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school Minimum 1-year recent family practice experience Board certification in Family Practice Active, unrestricted medical license in Virginia DEA and BLS certifications Strong communication and teamwork skills U.S. citizenship Nice to Have: Experience in military or federal healthcare settings Additional certifications in emergency medicine or specialties Bilingual skills Teaching or supervisory experience About the Assignment: This full-time role offers the opportunity to serve at multiple clinics including Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and associated branch clinics.
