This role is not desk-only—you will be directly involved on the shop floor, and in the field, solving real-world problems, designing practical solutions, and managing work from concept through delivery/installation.Key ResponsibilitiesWork directly in the shop and in the field to troubleshoot various issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutionsCollaborate closely in-house with machinists, fabricators, field service teams, and operators to understand problems, operating constraints, and manufacturing limitationsReverse engineer existing parts and equipment, including machined components, assemblies, and legacy equipmentDesign machine parts, weldments, and mechanical assemblies for custom equipment, repairs, and upgradesCreate and review shop-ready drawings for machining and fabrication, ensuring designs are practical and manufacturableReview, interpret, and work from existing customer drawings, prints, and documentationSelect materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes appropriate for machining, welding, and industrial service environmentsCreate jobs, order materials, and manage projects through machining, fabrication, andBe present on the shop floor to answer questions, resolve issues, and support productionProvide technical support to sales by assisting with estimates, job scoping, machining feasibility reviews, and cost evaluationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience)Experience in industrial maintenance, fabrication, or field service environments preferredProven experience as a hands-on mechanical engineer in industrial, manufacturing, machining, or fabrication environmentsExperience designing custom machined components, repair parts, and short-run or one-off equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment in real-world plant and field conditionsComfortable working in shops, plants, and field environments as requiredAbility to manage multiple projects and see them through from start to finishStrong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and shop personnelComputer proficiency, including CAD softwareCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive payMedical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, accident, critical illness and life insurance401(k) retirement plan with company match
