Safety and Occupational Health Specialist

Job Duties
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Performs environmental safety and health inspections in a variety of workplace environments, noting hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices.
- Conducts regular safety and health-related inspections and checks throughout the facility/campus.
- Identifies and works to eliminate unsafe and unhealthful environmental conditions discovered as a result of these inspections.
- Selects, sets up, calibrates, monitors, and reads a wide variety of sampling and measuring devices, and performs workplace/environmental monitoring tasks.
- Coordinates and manages the disposal of all hazardous waste, such as chemical, biological, and radioactive waste.
- Enforces federal, state, and USDA APHIS guidelines concerning hazardous waste.
- Provides instruction and training in various safety and occupational health subjects.
