Description:

Special Education Resource Teacher

Shift Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

General Definition of Work

• Provides individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborates with general education staff, families, and specialists to ensure students receive equitable access to the curriculum
• Supports students in achieving their full academic and social potential

Certification and Experience

• SC certification in Learning Disabilities or Multi-Categorical, or appropriate certification required with a strong GPA in relevant coursework
• Experience with teaching special education students in a self-contained setting with emotional disability/emotional impairment or equivalent preferred
• Experience with supporting others with classroom instruction and behavior management

Special Requirements

• Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation
• May be required to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
• Prior to beginning employment, negative TB test results must be provided
