Substitute Assistant Teacher (Part-Time)

UCCA is seeking flexible and caring Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms. This position assists teachers in maintaining safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environments for young children. Up to $100.96 per day. Schedule: No set schedule. On demand/ Part-Time position; Operating hours Monday–Friday 6:45am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities
• Support children's learning and development
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities
• Assist with meal service and daily routines
• Support positive interactions with children and families

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• EDU 119 or CDA preferred
• Experience working with young children preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver's license required
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
