Fuel is one of the most vital components of the Army National Guard. It keeps Soldiers pushing onward, and as a Petroleum Supply Specialist, you’ll ensure the proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products such as oil, fuel, and compressed gas. Responsibilities Supervise and manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products. Operate specialized pumping equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft. Select and submit samples of petroleum-based products for testing. Perform petroleum and water accounting activities. Test petroleum samples for contamination and repair specialized equipment. Maintain knowledge of facility safety procedures and storage guidelines. Assist in the planning and scheduling of petroleum transport. Train and supervise other Soldiers, assign duties, spot-check work quality, and ensure adherence to safety procedures. Training and Compensation After 10 weeks of Basic Training, you will attend 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes hands‑on and classroom training. The Army National Guard pays you a regular monthly paycheck and provides tuition assistance. The Guard also offers certified apprenticeship programs for some specialties. Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards. Must meet citizenship requirements. Programs and benefits are subject to change.
