Role summary RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to contribute to aerospace and defense programs. This role involves mechanical design and delivery of solutions for military and commercial environments, with a focus on electronics packaging. What You Will Do The Mechanical Engineer I is an important technical contributor to the programs and products supported by the department. Responsibilities involve working together with more senior team members in the mechanical design and delivery of solutions for challenging military and commercial environments. This role involves electronics packaging design. Assignments may involve thermal and structural design and analysis, electrical component design, construction and failure modes, printed wiring board and circuit card assembly processes and best practices, surface mount and through hole component installation processes and failure modes, metal fabrication and finishing methods, RF isolation mechanical design, and environmental test methods and equipment. Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date. Coursework and/or experience with the following: Calculus, Differential Equations, Physics (calculus based), Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of materials, Thermodynamics, Heat transfer Experience in Conformal Antenna Array Packaging. Qualifications We Prefer Coursework and/or experience with any of the following: Mechanical engineering within a product development lifecycle in design, packaging, manufacturing support, and/or hardware integration and testing. Creating and documenting mechanical designs in CREO or similar modeling tools. Structural and thermal analysis using FEA modeling techniques. Electronics packaging, cabling and harness design, and printed wiring board designs and routing. Relocation Eligibility The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
