Accounting Specialist

This is a contract to hire opportunity for Accounting Associate located in Tampa, FL area to accomodate onsite schedule few times a month.  Provide accounting support within the accounting department including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, posting journal entries, reconciliations, preparing for month-end closing procedures.   

salary: $22 - $22.5 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Associate

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank statements to accounting general ledger
• Assist accounting personnel with general accounting duties
• Verify, organize and store company financial records on approved company shared drives
• Deposit checks and post payments to the general ledger
• Investigate accounting discrepancies
• Cross train to provide back up support for issuing vendor payments
• Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts
• Special projects as assigned
• Assist in preparation of department procedural manual as needed
• Assist with month end close and ensure all deadlines are metPrepares analysis of accounts, as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• AA/AS Degree in Accounting preferred or 1 year of prior accounting experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• 1-2 years experience in QuickBooks
• Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
