Project Manager – Aircraft Maintenance & MRO

Location: Columbus, MS
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Contract Length: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $45–$65/hr

Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a 6-month contract opportunity in Columbus, MS. This position will lead aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) programs and coordinate projects across operations, engineering, and customer-facing teams.

Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of aircraft maintenance and repair projects , ensuring programs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and customer requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional with experience in aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, MRO, engineering, or manufacturing .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) projects from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate project activities across operations, engineering, maintenance, and customer teams .
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and priorities.
• Monitor project performance, costs, schedules, risks, and resource requirements.
• Ensure aircraft repair campaigns and customer contracts remain on track and meet established requirements.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical, operational, and scheduling challenges.
• Support customer requirements while maintaining project quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Identify potential project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure projects are executed in accordance with applicable technical, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Project Management , preferably within aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, MRO, or manufacturing.
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource management.
• Experience working with engineering, operations, maintenance, or technical teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Aerospace or aviation industry experience
• Aircraft maintenance or MRO experience
• Helicopter or vertical-flight experience
• Experience managing aircraft repair or maintenance programs
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing organizations
• Customer-facing project management experience
• Experience managing contractual deliverables
