Principal Trainer

Overview The Principal Trainer is the content expert for Epic applications and Piedmont‑specific workflows. They develop and lead the training program and training materials, coordinate with other Principal Trainers, and ensure alignment with the usability program led by the Director. Training methods include classroom instruction, web‑based learning, remote instruction (e.g., WebEx), one‑on‑one coaching, and written materials. Responsibilities • Master both a primary Epic application and Piedmont‑specific workflows. • Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that meet initial and ongoing training needs. • Build, test, and maintain a training environment that closely matches production. • Participate in workflow design and system build to gain in‑depth knowledge of functionality. • Provide on‑site and remote user support during and after training. • Oversee training facility management, including construction, technical infrastructure, and devices. • Serve as a representative of the Information Services team, establishing and maintaining relationships with colleagues, physicians, and other Epic users. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, computer technology or science, or a closely related field is required. Four (4) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the degree. Work Experience Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience providing computer‑based software training, support, project management, or a closely related field. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience may substitute for the three‑year requirement.
