Inpatient Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy TechnicianAs a pharmacy technician, you ensure patient safety by accurately preparing and dispensing medications. Your efficiency in managing inventory and processing prescriptions allows pharmacists to focus on patient care. By providing excellent customer service and medication guidance, you enhance patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans.Principle ResponsibilitiesPrepares medications.Manage and support automated drug distribution and drug inventory.Complete and document quality assurance activities.Repackages and labels bulk medications or splits tablets into unit dose packaging.Provides customer service.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMust be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job descriptionMinimum of six (6) months of pharmacy experience (inpatient or outpatient/retail), OR current national pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or NHA)Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredVocational or Technical Training from an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred0 to 2 years pharmacy technician experienceLicenses/CertificationsRegistered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hireCertified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required within 12 months of Date of Hire (NHA or PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)Physical DemandsLight Work:Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequentlyPay RangePay Range: $22.37 to $32.65 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
