Operations Manager in Training

Starting pay up to $27/hr, plus incentives. General Manager or equivalent experience is required. This includes extensive operational experience including proven ability to lead and develop small teams, hit goals consistently, and execute day‑to‑day upkeep of facilities and/or equipment. A degree in an applicable field may be a suitable substitution for operational experience. Operations Manager in Training Position Summary The Operations Manager in Training is a working manager responsible for learning all aspects of the performance and effective operation of a Mike’s location in preparation for a General Manager role. Fast Track Operations Managers are expected to inspire their Team Members and management teams to execute the Mike’s Purpose and deliver on our Team Member Promise, while maximizing profitability. Fast Track Operations Managers work at locations daily and report to a District Manager. Primary Responsibilities Execute the Mike’s Purpose and deliver on our Team Member Promise. This includes being a “role model” for our associates’ behavior and performance. Satisfy customers by ensuring wash quality, staffing, and professional handling of customer complaints and damages. Track and respond to various customer feedback platforms. Develop Management Team by completing checklists on time and ongoing development through one‑on‑one meetings, quarterly performance check‑ins, performance appraisals, weekly OPEX SOCs, managers’ certifications, and discipline process. Develop Wash Associates through orientation, ongoing coaching and training, including at least one S.O.C. completed and delivered each week, documenting and delivering applicable discipline, leading termination proceedings, and managing staffing through hiring surveys, scheduling, and timecards. Maximize location profitability by increasing profits, minimizing expenses, maintaining records and inventories, and working with the Area Director to develop budgets and goals. Ensure operational excellence by completing OPEX checklists thoroughly and promptly and following all OEE follow‑ups and staffing guidelines. Create a safety‑conscious culture by training and promoting vehicle and personal safety, following progressive discipline for safety violations, and working with the Safety Manager on safety meeting refreshers, audit follow‑ups, posting OSHA 300 forms, and reporting injuries via Accident Investigation Forms. Attend Ops meetings, ensuring presence at quarterly Ops meetings and providing detailed notes if on PTO. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Complete all other duties as assigned. Required Work Schedule Must average 40 hours per week (unless otherwise approved). Must work at least five days and 40 hours each week, including every other weekend (unless otherwise approved). Must be available to close at least one night each week. Must be available to open at least one morning each week. Work a full schedule the week leading up to Christmas, including December 24th. Ability to transfer between stores within the market. Ability to work at all locations in assigned region. While performing the duties, the employee will continuously be required to stand or walk, occasionally sit, stoop, reach, and/or twist at the waist while rotating, continuously perform repetitive movements, use hands for gripping pressure, and operate hand and foot controls. The employee will infrequently be required to lift 50 lbs. up to 3 feet, occasionally pull 10 lbs. up to 10 feet, and carry up to 50 lbs. for 10 feet. The employee may also be required to repeatedly bend, kneel, and balance. The employee will rarely be required to climb stairs and ladders. The employee will continuously have to work outdoors in temperatures of 0–100°F, occasionally work with machinery with moving parts and wear gloves, and frequently work with chemicals and wear eye or hearing protection. Minimum Qualifications Reasoning and Development: Ability to deal with practical problems and implement appropriate solutions. Mathematical Development: Ability to score 80% on our Money Handling Skills Assessment without using a calculator.
