1st Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday 

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable Assemblers to join a manufacturing team in Manchester, CT. This is a hands-on production position performing component installation, assembly, inspection, and basic testing of electronic assemblies and subassemblies along a production line.

Assemblers will work from production drawings, work orders, samples, and written or verbal instructions to properly assemble components and finished products. This role may involve mechanical assembly, electronic component installation, wiring, soldering, fastening hardware, quality inspection, and minor repair or touch-up work.

The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing, production, electronic assembly, or mechanical assembly experience and is comfortable working with hand tools, components, production drawings, and established quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and follow work orders, production drawings, assembly instructions, and sample assemblies.
• Position, align, and secure parts and components using fixtures, jigs, and other holding devices.
• Assemble components using crimping, fastening, riveting, soldering, press fitting, and similar assembly methods.
• Install assembled components, hardware, switches, clamps, caps, and other parts onto boards, units, cabinets, or finished assemblies.
• Perform mechanical and electronic assembly using appropriate hand tools and production equipment.
• Install polarized and non-polarized components in designated locations according to production documentation.
• Connect wires, component leads, connectors, terminals, and electrical contact points as required.
• Perform basic soldering, solder masking, component placement, taping, labeling, and touch-up work.
• Perform visual inspections and basic go/no-go testing to ensure assemblies meet production specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect assemblies for nonconforming components, solder joints, workmanship issues, and other defects.
• Perform basic removal, replacement, repair, and touch-up of components when necessary.
• Set up workstations with the proper documentation, tools, materials, and components according to assembly drawings.
• Complete required production, quality, and inspection documentation accurately.
• Communicate production or quality issues to leads, supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
• Follow established work instructions, quality procedures, production standards, and safety requirements.
• Assist with basic preventative maintenance and production line activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or a similar hands-on environment is preferred.
• Ability to follow written work instructions, production drawings, work orders, and verbal directions.
• Comfortable working with small components, hardware, hand tools, and basic production equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify basic workmanship or quality defects.
• Ability to perform repetitive hands-on assembly tasks while maintaining quality and production expectations.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
• Ability to follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the required first-shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience assembling electronic or electromechanical products.
• Previous experience with soldering, wiring, crimping, component installation, or PCB assembly.
• Experience inspecting electronic assemblies, including PTH or SMT components.
• Experience performing basic component repair, removal, replacement, or touch-up work.
• Experience working from assembly drawings, production documents, or detailed work instructions.
• Experience in electronics or another quality-focused manufacturing environment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing hands-on assembly work in a production environment. This person should be able to follow detailed work instructions, work with small electronic and mechanical components, use basic hand tools, and inspect their own work for quality. Previous experience with electronic assembly, wiring, soldering, component installation, or production manufacturing would be especially valuable.
