The facility is a voluntary center for adults and adolescents, dedicated to providing safe, confidential, and compassionate treatment with customized plans for each patient. As the clinical leader and Director of Behavioral Health RNs and Behavioral Health Specialists , you will have 24‑hour accountability and oversight for the Behavioral Health Adolescents Unit, a 48‑bed area. Reporting to the RN Senior Director, Chief Nursing Officer, you will manage two Assistant Directors and a staff of approximately 70‑80 Behavioral Health RN s and BHS s. The role requires clinical expertise to ensure high‑quality, compassionate, safe, and cost‑effective patient care, staff development, retention, and staffing. It also includes financial oversight of departmental budgets and enhancing the patient experience. The position is based Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.‑4:30 p.m. You are eligible to participate in Banner’s Management Incentive Plan (MIP), which is paid annually based on meeting organizational, financial, and patient satisfaction goals. Position Summary This position provides strategic leadership and administration in patient care, education, safety, and quality, aligned with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. The role promotes a professional practice environment and fosters collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the institution to positively impact clinical operations, nursing outcomes, and patient care. Responsibilities encompass clinical operations, clinician and patient/family education, customer service, patient safety, financial and quality outcome management, and regulatory compliance. Core Functions Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of planning structures and processes to optimize organizational outcomes. Recruit and retain top talent through effective communication, performance management, and professional development. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of clinical operations and motivate staff to perform at the highest level. Lead evidence‑based quality nursing practice aligned with current research and national standards. Collaborate with other healthcare providers and community partners in outreach activities. Integrate innovation and evidence‑based findings into practice. Create a supportive environment for innovative solutions. Manage quality of services across the continuum with physicians and facility leaders. Produce results that meet or exceed strategic and operational targets. Oversee clinical operations, quality, safety, and human resources programs, focusing on outcomes data and staff satisfaction. Account for clinical outcomes, ensuring clinical excellence. Coordinate services with leaders and administrators. Serve internal customers (facility and system management, staff, physicians) and external customers (patients, families, regulatory agencies). Minimum Qualifications BSN or MSN required for all new hires after July 1, 2013. Incumbents who began before that date must have obtained the BSN or MSN by July 1, 2015. Current RN license in the state of practice and BLS certification required. Strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management, demonstrated by 3‑5 years of progressive care‑management experience and leadership of strategic clinical operations. Excellent written and oral communication, strong decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills, and ability to lead change. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and a signed Arizona Criminal History Affidavit required for Behavioral Health staff serving children.
