As an Electrical Systems Engineer III, you will design and implement mission-critical electrical systems for our revolutionary Blue Ring spacecraft platform, a highly maneuverable multi-mission spacecraft supporting national security operations.This role offers unique challenges in spacecraft electrical design within a classified environment, where your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing our nation's space capabilities. This position combines technical innovation with meaningful impact, offering a rare opportunity to shape the future of secure space infrastructure.Special Mentions:Position is based in Seattle, WARelocation assistance is availableTravel requirements: Less than 25%Top Secret clearance preferredResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Design and develop electrical systems and interfaces for spacecraft and payloads, with a specific focus on Blue Ring applications for national security missionsCreate and analyze power budgets to ensure adequate electrical power for mission operationsDesign and specify wire harness connectivity solutions that meet spacecraft requirements for reliability, mass, and performanceDevelop and implement command and data handling architectures for spacecraft subsystems and payloadsDefine and document electrical interfaces between spacecraft bus and payloadsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical systems integration with mechanical, thermal, and software systemsDevelop electrical test plans and procedures to verify system performanceIdentify and mitigate technical risks related to electrical systems for national security spacecraftMentor junior engineers on electrical design best practices for space applicationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field5+ years of experience in spacecraft electrical systems engineeringDemonstrated experience with at least one of the following: command & data handling subsystems, avionics, or electrical power subsystemsKnowledge of spacecraft electrical interfaces and standardsExperience with power budget development and analysisFamiliarity with wire harness design and connectivity solutions for space applicationsUnderstanding of systems engineering principles and processesPreferred Qualifications:Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearanceMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering7+ years of experience in spacecraft electrical systems design and integrationExperience with payload accommodation and integration for spacecraftKnowledge of spacecraft bus architectures and subsystem interactionsExperience with MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, CAN, or other spacecraft data bus protocolsFamiliarity with electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) development and operationExperience with requirements development and management for electrical systemsKnowledge of EMI/EMC considerations for spacecraftExperience with FPGA or embedded software developmentBackground in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologiesPrevious work experience in national security space programsCompensation Range for:CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
