Cost AccountantAt Dauch, our Cost Accountants directly support the controller in carrying out responsibilities of the finance department. Cost Accountants determine and implement cost-accounting procedures and methods, prepare and analyze cost reports and audits, and examine unusual cost records to ensure data is allocated accurately.Job Description:Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods aligned with industry best practices.Prepare and analyze cost reports and conduct regular costing audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.Examine unusual cost records and ensure proper allocation of cost data across departments and products.Establish standard costs for new products in collaboration with engineering and production teams.Monitor and report on cost variances, including material, labor, and overhead.Perform accounting for price variances and overhead recovery on a regular basis.Provide detailed analysis of cost drivers and trends to support operational efficiency and profitability.Assist in preparing financial reports and forecasts related to cost performance.Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering teams to understand cost structures and changes, ensuring requisitions are properly coded.Support internal audits and external financial reviews related to cost accounting.Other relevant duties as assignedRequired Skills and Education:Completed Bachelors degree with major in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance or related field2+ years experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocationAbout Dauch:Dauch Corporation is a premier Driveline and Metal Forming supplier serving the global automotive industry with a powertrain-agnostic product portfolio that supports electric, hybrid, and internal combustion vehicles.
