Job Title: Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN)
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 03 months Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9-5pm
Hourly rate: $43/hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Duties

• Provides supportive and restorative nursing care under the direction of an RN or legally authorized physician/dentist.
• Administers medications and performs specialized nursing tasks within the LPN scope of practice.
• Performs routine nursing care in structured, non-complex situations.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Administers treatments, including suctioning and urinary catheterization.
• Prepares patients for surgeries, diagnostic tests, treatments, and examinations.
• Collects, labels, and processes specimens accurately.
• Sets up IV equipment and administers solutions through peripheral IV access devices.
• Administers blood and blood products with appropriate specialized training.
• Reports patient observations, treatments, medications, incidents, and accidents to the RN and documents them appropriately.
• Accepts and completes assignments delegated by the RN.
• Contributes to nursing care plans in collaboration with the nursing team.
• Reinforces patient and family education provided by the RN.
• Provides emotional support to patients, families, and significant others.
• Assists with patient rehabilitation according to the nursing care plan.
• Promotes patient comfort and safety.
• Participates in patient care conferences.
• Assists with emergency resuscitation procedures, including initiating Team 7000 calls and performing BCLS as directed.
• Documents all nursing care provided in the medical record.

• Completion of an accredited educational program for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure .
• Successful completion of the New York State Department of Health LPN IV Therapy Initial Program as part of Centralized Orientation.
• Demonstrated competency in:
  • Intravenous (IV) therapy procedures.
  • Blood administration procedures.
• Successful completion of the annual unit-based review and update program for IV therapy procedures.
