Java Developer with Hadoop

Primary Skill: Spring boot, Core java, Hadoop, pyspark, Hive

Secondary: Kafka

We are seeking a Java Developer with strong expertise in Java 10+ and modern backend application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building scalable microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications. Exposure to Hadoop ecosystem technologies is required to support data-intensive applications and integrations, though this is not a core Hadoop development role.

Basic to Intermediate Hadoop ecosystem experience

Roles & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.

Develop scalable Microservices and REST APIs.

Integrate applications with distributed data platforms and messaging systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.

Optimize application performance and scalability.

Work in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Support data processing and integration workflows involving Hadoop-based platforms.

Required Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.

Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architecture.

Experience with OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.

Good understanding of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.

Understanding of software design patterns and secure coding practices.

Hadoop Experience (Good to Have / Secondary Skill)

Candidate should possess working knowledge of:

Hadoop ecosystem concepts (HDFS, YARN, Hive)

Basic Hive query development and troubleshooting

Understanding of data ingestion and batch processing workflows

Experience working with Hadoop-based data platforms in support of application development

Exposure to Spark is a plus

Note: Hadoop is a secondary skill. Candidates are not expected to perform deep Hadoop administration, cluster management, or advanced big-data engineering.
