Responsibilities Performs a wide range of specialized functions and complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatment for patients transported by rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and/or ground services. Documents appropriate and accurate information for assessment and treatment during stabilization and transport. Documents accurate and complete billing information for patient transports. Maintains effective and timely communication between management, internal and external customers. Participates in activities to support PR and marketing efforts. Maintains knowledge base for the flight paramedic role through meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education related to critical care transport. Completes all annual recurrent competency requirements. Maintains an active paramedic certification and other certifications as required by policy. Functions under the licensure of the Medical Director and reports to the program Manager of Clinical Services and National Director of Clinical Standards. Operates within the regulations and scope of practice of the local Department of Health Services. Schedule / Location Location: West Lafayette, IN Schedule: MED Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay and benefits package. Shift bonuses, shift incentives, annual safety bonus, annual employee bonus, and additional incentives. Annual continuing education allowance for clinicians. The Successful Candidate Will Have Active paramedic certification in the state of employment. Minimum three years (five years preferred) of current paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital setting. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP and PHTLS/ITLS; NRP preferred. Instructor certifications preferred. FP-C within twenty-four months of hire. Flight or transport experience preferred. Successful completion of the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program. Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with personnel and external customers. Basic computer skills for e-mail and electronic charting. Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. Ability to pass pre-placement physical exam, including functional capacity exam, drug screening, and background check. Must maintain body weight below 235 lbs.
