About the Role:

The Safety Admin plays a critical role in supporting the organization's health and safety programs by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate safety records, coordinating safety training sessions, and assisting in the development and implementation of safety procedures. The Safety Admin acts as a liaison between management, employees, and regulatory agencies to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. By managing documentation and tracking safety metrics, this role helps identify potential hazards and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, the Safety Admin contributes to creating a safe and healthy work environment that minimizes risks and protects all personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in an administrative role supporting safety or compliance functions.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and general workplace safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with safety management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in industries with high safety compliance requirements such as transportation, manufacturing, or logistics.
• Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
• Ability to analyze safety data and generate reports to support decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and inspection checklists.
• Coordinate and schedule safety training sessions and ensure employee participation and certification compliance.
• Assist in the development, review, and distribution of safety policies and procedures.
• Support safety audits and inspections by preparing necessary documentation and following up on corrective actions.
• Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries from employees and management.
• Track and report safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Facilitate communication between safety committees, management, and staff to promote safety awareness.

Skills:

The Safety Admin utilizes strong organizational and communication skills daily to manage safety documentation and coordinate training programs effectively. Proficiency in software tools enables efficient tracking of safety metrics and compliance records, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards guides the administration of policies and supports regulatory compliance efforts. Analytical skills are applied to interpret safety data, identify trends, and assist in developing corrective actions to mitigate risks. Additionally, interpersonal skills facilitate collaboration with various departments and external agencies to foster a proactive safety culture.
