Responsibilities Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures in an acute care hospital. The PACU RN delivers safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care through continuous assessment, monitoring, intervention, and coordination of care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid response to changing patient conditions, and effective collaboration with anesthesia providers, surgeons, procedural teams, and multidisciplinary partners. Career development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program. BSN preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years acute‑care specialist nursing, including 1‑3 years acute‑care PACU experience. Skills: Strong critical thinking and rapid decision‑making skills. Ability to function effectively in high‑stress, fast‑paced environments. Leads Universal Protocol / Time Out. Maintains continuous patient advocacy while patients are anesthetized. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Compassion, resilience, and adaptability. License & Certification: Current FL state nursing license. Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) preferred but not required. Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required. Travel Requirements: Minimal.
