Conflicts Researcher

Overview

A global professional services firm is seeking a Conflicts Researcher to support its risk and new business intake function. This role is responsible for conducting in-depth research on prospective clients to identify and mitigate potential ethical, financial, and reputational risks.

The position offers exposure to the broader conflicts and intake process, providing a strong foundation for career growth within risk management, compliance, or legal operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on prospective clients using online databases and public sources
• Build detailed corporate profiles and identify potential risk factors, including reputational and financial concerns
• Prepare comprehensive new client evaluation reports summarizing findings and risk assessments
• Support analysts, attorneys, and leadership in the client intake and conflicts review process
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data within the conflicts database
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving data quality and standardization
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc research assignments
• Manage multiple requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required

• Prior experience in research, analysis, or a related field (academic or professional)
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to present clear, concise analysis
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Sound judgment and strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel skills preferred
• Familiarity with database systems and queries is a plus
• Exposure to AML, KYC, due diligence, or risk management concepts preferred
• Experience with corporate research tools or platforms is a plus
