Overview A global professional services firm is seeking a Conflicts Researcher to support its risk and new business intake function. This role is responsible for conducting in-depth research on prospective clients to identify and mitigate potential ethical, financial, and reputational risks. The position offers exposure to the broader conflicts and intake process, providing a strong foundation for career growth within risk management, compliance, or legal operations. Responsibilities
- Conduct research on prospective clients using online databases and public sources
- Build detailed corporate profiles and identify potential risk factors, including reputational and financial concerns
- Prepare comprehensive new client evaluation reports summarizing findings and risk assessments
- Support analysts, attorneys, and leadership in the client intake and conflicts review process
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data within the conflicts database
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving data quality and standardization
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc research assignments
- Manage multiple requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Bachelor's degree required
- Prior experience in research, analysis, or a related field (academic or professional)
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to present clear, concise analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Sound judgment and strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel skills preferred
- Familiarity with database systems and queries is a plus
- Exposure to AML, KYC, due diligence, or risk management concepts preferred
- Experience with corporate research tools or platforms is a plus
