Bakery Service and Production Associate

Location Address: 498 Pottstown Avenue Job Start Time: Must be able to start at 6:00AM. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Keep the bakery department well stocked and visually appealing to meet customer demand. Smile and greet customers, provide suggestions, answer product questions, and offer cake preparation information. Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously. Mix, shape, proof, and bake breads, rolls, sweet goods, and cakes. Prepare items for the refrigerated and freezer cases. Fill donuts and immerse them in frying oil; flip donuts with sticks, remove them from oil, and place them on racks for cooling. Decorate cakes and other bakery products using basic designs and custom designs as needed. Trim, cut, and shape cakes to required specifications, applying icing on surfaces and between layers. Take customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant and positive attitude. Determine customer needs regarding size, flavor, and appearance, and create finished decorated products in a timely manner. Assist in filling, wrapping, pricing, stocking, and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs. Pull out-of-code products from shelves and reduce them to predetermined retail for quick sale. Rotate items to ensure freshness. Assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries, operating power jack or hand jack when properly trained. Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties when properly trained. Maintain general sanitation in the department; follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc., clean and in compliance with health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly. Cooperate with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of the department and store. Continuously improve job performance. Use all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or general education degree (GED) completed or in progress. Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
